Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi stresses the importance of community initiatives in empowering people of determination

Dubai, 30 October / WAM / Sheikh Engineer Salem bin Sultan bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Civil Aviation and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ras Al Khaimah International Airport, attended the Art of Power Inclusion Through Expression event, organized by the UmiVerse Library in partnership with the Emirates Journalists Association, with the participation of UNESCO, and sponsored by the University of Manchester at the Mohammed bin Rashid Library in Dubai.

Sheikh Salem bin Sultan stressed the importance of community initiatives that contribute to empowering people of determination and enhancing their active participation in society, praising the efforts of the organizing and participating bodies and their role in employing art and education as sophisticated means to establish a culture of inclusion and creativity.

He said that supporting these events embodies the vision of the country’s wise leadership, which made the human being the focus of development, and was keen to provide a stimulating environment that ensures equal opportunities for all segments of society, noting that art is a bridge for human communication that enhances the values ​​of tolerance, understanding and social integration.

For his part, Hassan Omran Al Shamsi, a member of the Emirates Journalists Association, praised the great support given by the wise leadership to people of determination, pointing to the association’s role in developing training programs and media initiatives aimed at empowering this group and their families, which contributes to enhancing their skills and developing their presence in society.

For her part, Dr. Nawal Benzoueh, Executive Director of the UmiVerse Library, explained that this event represents a global platform for dialogue and cooperation in order to build a true culture of integration that goes beyond the theoretical concept to practical application, pointing out that the library represents a bridge linking the Middle East, Europe, and China, and aims to connect education to life through international study programs, accredited training, and global experiences.

She added that OmiVerse programs include courses in artificial intelligence and robotics, the United Nations Youth Speech Competition, sports and scientific programs in mathematics, training opportunities in high-tech companies in China, and field missions on sustainability in Finland, noting that the platform is accredited by the French National Institute for Inclusive Education (INSEI France) and the UNESCO Chair on Disability, Education and Digital Technology, which enhances its global credibility and commitment to inclusive education.

She emphasized that art, education and technology together form an empowerment triangle that supports inclusion and contributes to building environments that nurture all abilities.

She stated that the event brought together international experts and representatives of UNESCO who presented pioneering experiences in comprehensive education, vocational training, and artistic creativity directed at people of determination, noting that exchanging these experiences contributes to developing innovative business models that suit the needs of Arab societies.

She stressed that art is the language of everyone, and that empowering people of determination is an investment in human energies capable of creativity, inspiration and giving, in line with the vision of the wise leadership of the UAE and the goals of the Year of Society 2025.

The event included impressive testimonies from a number of people of determination who reviewed their success stories in their various fields of work, stressing that the institutional support and opportunities provided by the UAE enabled them to achieve qualitative achievements that reflect their abilities and determination.

Representatives of academic institutions from the Emirates, Britain, France and China participated in the event, including the University of Manchester, the Mohammed bin Rashid College of Government, the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, and Dubai Police, in addition to directors of schools and specialized centers for caring for people of determination. They stressed the importance of joint cooperation to develop effective integration programs that enhance the independence and empowerment of people of determination.
