The Authority’s decision came based on a telegram from the Authority’s CEO. The telegram was based on an immediate notification report issued by the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH), which confirmed that the virus had been detected in the aforementioned Danish province.

Despite the ban, the authority clarified that there is a specific exception to the decision, and the exception includes poultry meat, table eggs, and their products that have been subjected to controlled heat treatment.

This treatment is required to be sufficient to ensure the complete elimination of the highly virulent bird influenza virus.

In order to allow the entry of these excluded products, the Authority stressed the need for them to comply with health requirements and standard specifications approved in the Kingdom.

It obligated importers to attach an official health certificate issued by the approved authorities in the Kingdom of Denmark.

This certificate must also conclusively prove that either the product is free of the virus that causes the disease, or that it has been completely eliminated through heat treatment.
