"Red Sea Cinema" Unveils 40 new projects to support global talent

The Red Sea International Film Festival revealed the selection of 40 A cinematic project and a television project on the list of the Projects Market for the year 2025, confirming its position as one of the most prominent platforms supporting joint productions and promising talents from the Arab world, Asia and Africa.
The selected projects this year include works under Development and production and others in the post-production stage, in addition to eight projects for drama series being developed within the “Series Laboratory”, which reflects the festival’s continuous expansion in the fields of audiovisual production.

Remarkable female participation and artistic diversity

The festival celebrates a remarkable diversity in artistic visions and styles, with distinguished female participation representing more than 42% of the total projects, at a time when the fifth session witnesses the participation of 18 Directors presenting their first feature-length works.
The current session also witnessed a 35% increase in entries coming from the Asian continent, after opening the door for submissions to Asian creators for the first time last year, which reflects the expansion of the circle Global interest in joining the Red Sea Film System.

The statement pointed out that the market received more than 1,900 applications for participation, which were reviewed by a specialized international committee, while the selected projects will undergo an intensive orientation program before being presented to industry partners during the festival’s activities next December.

An opportunity to develop ideas

For her part, Holly Daniel, Director of the Red Sea Market, explained that the projects market represents “a fundamental pillar of the system.” The festival brings together new voices and allows them to develop innovative ideas in cooperation with industry partners.” She added that the market’s celebration of its fifth anniversary confirms its growing impact in supporting filmmakers, praising the creative diversity and strength of the projects selected this year.

Participating projects are eligible to receive cash prizes from the Red Sea Fund and its partners, within the framework of comprehensive support extending from development to post-production, thus enhancing Jeddah’s position as a major destination for the film industry in the region.
