Mansour bin Mohammed chairs the meeting of the Supreme Committee for Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management in Dubai

The Supreme Committee for Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management in Dubai held its meeting today under the chairmanship of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Committee, to discuss the emirate’s readiness and its strategic plans to enhance field and institutional preparedness, and ensure the continuity of the efficiency of the response system in various sectors.

During the meeting at the Emirates Towers, the committee reviewed updates on emergency and crisis plans, the level of coordination between the concerned authorities in the emirate, as well as the readiness of vital sectors to deal with various possible scenarios, consolidating Dubai’s position as a global leader in preparedness, flexibility and institutional sustainability.

His Highness stressed that Dubai’s readiness is not only measured by its ability to respond, but also by its ability to predict risks and anticipate them with integrated plans, qualified cadres, and effective institutional coordination that makes sustainability a shared responsibility among everyone.
His Highness also directed the continuation of efforts aimed at developing the capabilities of work teams, intensifying practical and field training, and strengthening risk analysis and forecasting systems, in order to ensure the sustainability of preparedness and raise the efficiency of the response system at the field and strategic levels.

During its meeting today, the committee stressed the importance of enhancing integration between government agencies, the private sector and civil society, to ensure the highest levels of readiness and rapid response, stressing the need to activate field leadership systems and develop the technical and information infrastructure that supports immediate and accurate decision-making during various emergency situations.

During the meeting, the committee reviewed the efforts of various entities to enhance the emirate’s flexibility and ensure business continuity and vital services in various circumstances, in addition to modernizing field and digital coordination mechanisms among relevant authorities and developing early warning systems and data analysis.

The attendees stressed that investing in the human element and expanding strategic partnerships with national and academic institutions represent the basis of the success of the comprehensive crisis and emergency management system in Dubai, in line with the emirate’s direction towards building a city that is more prepared and sustainable for the future.
