The Speaker of the Arab Parliament appreciates the UAE’s relief efforts in Gaza
Cairo, October 30 / WAM / His Excellency Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi, Speaker of the Arab Parliament, praised the humanitarian efforts and relief aid provided by the United Arab Emirates to support the brothers in the Gaza Strip, noting its implementation of the largest project to supply desalinated water from Egypt to the south of the Strip to serve about 600,000 affected people, as part of Operation “Gallant Knight 3” launched by the UAE to support the Palestinian people.
This came in his speech before the plenary session of the Arab Parliament of the second session of the fourth legislative term, which was held today at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, with the participation of the President of the Parliament of Latin America and the Caribbean.
The Speaker of the Arab Parliament praised the efforts made by the Arab Republic of Egypt, the State of Qatar and the Republic of Turkey to reach a ceasefire agreement in Gaza, stressing that this agreement, which was hosted by the city of Sharm El-Sheikh, is an important step towards consolidating the calm and creating conditions for reconstruction.
Al-Yamahi stressed that the Palestinian issue will remain the first and central issue of the Arab nation, and that achieving a just and comprehensive peace begins and ends with ending the occupation and establishing the independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
He called on the countries of the world and international institutions to actively participate in the Gaza Reconstruction Conference scheduled to be held in the Arab Republic of Egypt next November, to contribute to rebuilding what the occupation destroyed, stressing the need to hold the occupation accountable for its crimes before the competent international courts.
He also praised the tireless efforts made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its wise leadership through its sponsorship of the two-state solution conference, which paved the way for increased international recognition of the Palestinian state, stressing that the current stage calls for unifying the Arab, Islamic and international position to mobilize support for the reconstruction of Gaza and support for the Palestinian cause.
