On behalf of the President of the State… The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi witnesses the official opening ceremony of the Grand Egyptian Museum

On behalf of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him,” His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, witnessed the official opening ceremony of the Grand Egyptian Museum in Giza Governorate.
The opening ceremony of the Grand Egyptian Museum began today in the presence of Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and a number of kings, heads of state and government leaders from around the world.
The opening ceremony began with taking group photos of the official delegations, followed by the performance of an international musical symphony in which an elite group of artists and musicians participated, in addition to light shows by drones that embody the interrelation between the design of the museum and the pyramids in a harmony that reflects the importance of this cultural edifice that combines architectural creativity and the nobility of ancient Egyptian civilization.
Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, delivered a speech in which he welcomed the guests of Egypt to attend the opening ceremony of the Grand Egyptian Museum, which embodies the march of human civilization that the land of Egypt carries to the world. The ceremony concluded with exhibition scenes that celebrated the most prominent artifacts on display, including Khufu’s boats and works celebrating King Tutankhamun.
The museum displays a large number of ancient artifacts, including the treasures of King Tutankhamun, which are on full display for the first time since the discovery of his tomb in November 1922.
The museum has an area of 500,000 square metres, overlooking the Pyramids of Giza, and is decorated with gardens in all directions on an area of 120,000 square metres. It includes 12 halls, displaying thousands of artifacts from the treasures of prehistoric times and the civilization of ancient Egypt, until the end of the Roman era.
His Highness was accompanied by a delegation that included Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Head of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court, Sheikh Salem bin Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of Culture, Saif Saeed Ghobash, Secretary-General of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, Head of the Crown Prince’s Office in the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court, and Maryam Eid Al Muhairi, Head of the Abu Dhabi Media Office, Strategic Relations Advisor in the Crown Prince’s Court.
