Two other people were charged in the Louvre Museum jewelry theft case

The Paris Prosecutor’s Office announced the indictment of two more people in Paris, today, Saturday, as suspects in the daring robbery case that targeted the Louvre Museum last month, during which jewelry worth an estimated 88 million euros was stolen in broad daylight, bringing the number of those involved in this theft so far to four people.
Public Prosecutor Laure Picot said – in a statement – that the first accused, who is 37 years old, He was charged with participating in an organized robbery and criminal conspiracy, while a 38-year-old woman was accused of complicity in the crime.
She added that the defendants were placed in pretrial detention, and that they denied any connection to the case.
For his part, Adrian Sorrentino, the newly accused woman’s lawyer, said that his client was “devastated.” She denies all the charges against her, adding that she “does not understand why she was charged in the case.”
The defendants were arrested as part of a security campaign that included five people, three of whom were later released without charges.
The prosecution had previously brought charges of theft and criminal conspiracy to two men in their thirties from the Aubervilliers suburb. Northeast of Paris, after they partially confessed to their participation in the crime.
Investigations are still ongoing, but so far the stolen royal jewelry, valued at 88 million euros, has not been found.
