The launch of the Sheikh Zayed Festival activities in Al Wathba… and 30 thousand visitors on its first day
Abu Dhabi, 2nd November / WAM / The activities of the Sheikh Zayed Festival in its new edition for the 2025-2026 season kicked off yesterday in the Al Wathba area in Abu Dhabi, amid the presence of a wide audience of different ages and nationalities.
The first day of the Sheikh Zayed Festival witnessed a large turnout of visitors, with their number exceeding 30,000 visitors, who enjoyed the diverse festive atmosphere that combined entertainment, education and culture.
The festival’s corridors were decorated with interactive displays and artistic illumination, which gave visitors an exceptional experience that blends Emirati authenticity and international creativity.
The main squares also witnessed live performances by local and international folk arts groups, which gave the atmosphere a heritage character that reflects the spirit of the festival and embodies the cultural diversity that distinguishes it.
The theaters spread across the festival site hosted a variety of entertainment and cultural activities that received wide interaction from visitors of all ages, confirming a successful start to the new season of the festival.
This year’s updated edition includes a group of new destinations that have enriched the visitors’ experience, including the Al Wathba Winterland amusement park, which is one of the most prominent additions in the new season, as it provides an integrated entertainment environment suitable for all ages.
The city includes a wide range of family and adventure games, such as a roller coaster, a house of horrors, bowling alleys for adults and children, an ice skating rink, a dinosaur park, and a modern cinema hall with virtual reality (VR) and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.
The city also offers a range of entertainment events and interactive activities that add an atmosphere of fun and excitement for families and visitors.
In addition, Al Wathba Boulevard stands out as a destination that brings together international restaurants and cafes and Emirati entrepreneurs, and the Al Nawader Reserve, which introduces visitors to rare types of animals in an educational and entertaining experience, in addition to the international pavilions, which this year are witnessing expanded participation with new countries joining the list of participants, presenting artistic, cultural and craftsmanship displays that express their heritage and highlight the specificity of their cultural identity, in a global scene that embodies cultural diversity and cultural exchange between peoples.
On the first day, the Al Wathba sky witnessed dazzling displays of fireworks and drones, which lit up the atmosphere with innovative colors and designs in a visual spectacle, which constituted a distinguished start for the new season of the festival, which is considered one of the most prominent cultural and tourism events in the UAE and the region.
