Hundreds of Israeli settlers storm Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem

Hundreds of settlers stormed, today, Sunday, the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque in the occupied city of East Jerusalem, under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces.

The Jerusalem Governorate reported, in a statement on Sunday, according to the Palestinian news agency “Wafa”, that 648 settlers stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and performed Talmudic and provocative rituals in its courtyards, under the protection of the occupation forces.

In a related context, the occupation forces arrested Israeli forces, at least 11 Palestinians from various cities in the West Bank, and 3 children.

Wafa Agency reported: The Israeli occupation forces arrested, at dawn today, 4 young men from the city of Qalqilya, in addition to a young man from the village of Al-Jiftlik, north of the city of Jericho, after raiding his family’s home in Al-Jiftlik, and tampering with its contents. They also arrested 3 children from the town of Beit Ummar, north of Hebron.

She added that the occupation forces arrested 4 Palestinians from the town of Kafr Ra’i, south of Jenin, and also arrested citizens from the city of Nablus, and the refugee camp. Old Askar to the east, noting that the occupation forces stormed the villages of Azmut and Deir al-Hatab to the east, and raided homes, searched them, and tampered with their contents, without any arrests being reported. 

In another context, the Governor of Nablus, Ghassan Daghlas, said that the occupation army issued a military decision to move what is known as the “Hamra” checkpoint, on the road between Nablus and Tubas. And Jericho, and bring it closer to the village of Ain Shibli, east of Nablus.

Daghlas added, in statements to the Palestinian news agency “Wafa”, that the area is witnessing bulldozing operations to move the barrier, which threatens the seizure of more lands to facilitate the movement of the colonists and tighten control over the northern and central Jordan Valley, according to expectations.

For his part, the head of the Ain Shibli Village Council, Jamal Al-Omari, confirmed to the agency “Wafa” said that the council was informed a few days ago of the occupation’s intention to move the checkpoint to the village and seize about 12 dunums of its land. For military purposes.

The occupation forces establish the Hamra military checkpoint at a crossroads linking the cities of the West Bank with the central, southern and northern Jordan Valley, as it constitutes a major outlet for thousands of citizens to reach their workplaces in the Jordan Valley areas.
