“Rashid Equestrian” announces the general plan to develop a global sports destination

In a step that reflects an ambitious vision of the Supreme Authority of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club, headed by His Highness Sheikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister’s Court and Chairman of the Supreme Authority of the Club, towards strengthening partnerships with the private sector and supporting economic diversification plans in a way that contributes to consolidating the position of the Kingdom of Bahrain as a leading regional destination, the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club announced the general plan for an integrated development project that will transform the club into a global center that combines sports and hospitality. And sustainability in one destination.

The project was announced during the Gulf Gate Forum 2025, which was held at the Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay between November 2 and 3, 2025, where the general plan, which was prepared in cooperation with Bareeq Al Ritaj Real Estate Services Company, was presented on an area exceeding 3 million square meters at the club site in the Al Raffa area, the home of equestrian sports and horse racing in the Kingdom.

On this occasion, Mr. Yousef Osama Buhiji, CEO of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club, confirmed that the project represents a qualitative leap in the club’s journey and the field of equestrianism in Bahrain, indicating that it reflects the ambitious vision towards developing the club’s facilities and transforming it into a world-class destination that combines sports, nature and ancient Bahraini heritage.

Buhiji added that the project will contribute to enhancing development activity in the Kingdom, by creating new opportunities for investment and tourism and providing quality work fields for Bahraini cadres, in addition to its role in highlighting Bahrain’s ancient history in horse racing and passing it on to future generations.

The general plan includes a group of vital facilities and projects, the most prominent of which are:

· An 18-hole championship golf course offering a world-class experience for professionals and amateurs

· A golf club and equestrian center with integrated training facilities and sites for various events

· Luxury hotel and residential villas integrated with the stadium

· Luxury villas and homes surrounded by green spaces and entertainment facilities

· A commercial and retail center that includes stores, hospitality and entertainment areas

· A modern sports complex and members’ club to enhance quality of life and community engagement

· Hospitality facilities and restaurants overlooking the race track

The project also pays great attention to sustainability by establishing a solar energy station on the northeastern side of the site to provide clean energy to the complex, in support of the national goals of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the field of renewable energy and reducing carbon emissions.

The master plan will provide various investment opportunities for the private sector in the housing, hotel, trade and entertainment sectors, attracting local and international investors looking for quality long-term projects in a growing economic environment characterized by innovation and an advanced lifestyle.
