"National Orchestra" She begins her training for a musical journey that brings together the talents of the Emirates and the world

Abu Dhabi, 4 November / WAM / The National Orchestra of the United Arab Emirates announced the start of its training in Abu Dhabi with the participation of an elite group of musicians from the Emirates and the world, to express a unique voice that represents the country’s identity, and reflects its cultural diversity and future aspirations.
The UAE National Orchestra was established under the generous patronage of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and under the leadership of Her Excellency Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of State and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the UAE National Orchestra.
The selection process included conducting a series of more than 250 auditions, after which 70 full-time musicians and 30 part-time singers were selected, after the audition stage that attracted more than 3,200 applications.
The inaugural season will witness performances in the seven emirates, allowing orchestral music to be presented to entirely new communities and segments for the first time in the country’s history.
These concerts are an embodiment of the orchestra’s mission, which aims to make music a common national voice that connects communities and celebrates creativity and cultural excellence.
The orchestra is a national institution that reflects, at its core, an ambitious vision based on the values of community, inclusivity, and inspiration. Its primary mission is to celebrate the musical heritage of the UAE, connect different cultures, and inspire the new generation of musicians and audiences alike.
The National Orchestra reflects the UAE’s commitment to supporting the cultural and creative sectors and qualifying a new generation of artistic talent.
It also contributes to achieving the pillar of “the most prosperous society in the world” contained in the We Are the Emirates 2031 vision, which enhances the values of community cohesion and establishes a common national identity through culture.
As a national platform for artistic excellence, it aims to enhance the cultural presence of the UAE and provide high-end music to audiences in all emirates of the country.
The National Orchestra also supports the objectives of the National Strategy for Cultural and Creative Industries in the UAE, which enhances the role of the arts in achieving sustainable development and strengthening social ties.
It also seeks to invest in its distinctive offers and partnerships to support creativity and introduce the world to the cultural heritage of the UAE.
Sheikha Alia bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Director General of the National Orchestra of the United Arab Emirates, said: “The National Orchestra represents a symbol of the identity of the Emirates, and reflects our pride in our roots, our openness to the world, and our awareness of the importance of enhancing creativity and cooperative relations. With the start of the orchestra’s training, the features of a new inspiring cultural journey for the Emirates are evident, in addition to presenting fine music in the seven emirates.”
The National Orchestra, led by Artistic Director and Conductor Amin Kouider, presents contemporary music that combines Arab and Western influences, to reflect the country’s heritage and its innovative aspirations to form a distinctive musical identity.
Amin Qwaider said: The orchestra unites audiences and musicians from diverse backgrounds through the universal language of music, and we see a unique creative interaction that reflects the diversity and cultural openness of the Emirates.
Over the coming months, the UAE National Orchestra will continue its preparations for its inaugural season, concluding distinguished partnerships with international institutions and artists. The inaugural season’s performances reflect the unique identity of the UAE, contributing to highlighting its cultural diversity through musical art.
