The Scientific Council of Mohammed bin Zayed University for Human Sciences discusses developing its programs

ABU DHABI, 4th November, 2018 (WAM) – During its tenth meeting, headed by His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Bayyah, Chairman of the University’s Supreme Scientific Council, and in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Khalifa Mubarak Al Dhaheri, Director of the University, the Supreme Scientific Council of Mohammed bin Zayed University for the Humanities reviewed the most prominent academic initiatives and development projects that were implemented during the past period, and discussed ways to enhance the university’s future progress and programs in the fields of Islamic studies, humanities and social sciences.

During the meeting held at the university’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi, His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Bayyah appreciated the university’s efforts over the past months and the qualitative achievements it has achieved in developing its academic, research and community programmes, stressing that these efforts reflect the vision of the UAE in consolidating knowledge leadership and achieving sustainable development goals.

His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Bayyah reviewed a number of pioneering initiatives that are consistent with the university’s strategic vision, the most prominent of which is the “Hamdan bin Zayed Diploma for Leadership in Sustainable Humanitarian Work,” which aims to prepare qualified leadership cadres in the fields of humanitarian and development work, and consolidates the UAE’s position in this vital field through integration between academic expertise and field experience.

The Council discussed preparations for the “Philosophy, Belief, Science and Reasonableness” conference to be held in Paris, which reflects the university’s keenness to strengthen its international partnerships and build bridges of dialogue between religion, science and reason, affirming the role of knowledge as a bridge for human understanding and civilizational integration.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Council praised the great support that the university enjoys from the wise leadership, calling for continued work to consolidate its academic leadership and enhance its scientific and societal impact in spreading the values ​​of tolerance, rationality and humanity on which the university’s mission is based.
