"Abu Dhabi Judiciary" It records 15,000 civil marriage applications and 7,600 wills within 9 months

Abu Dhabi, 5 November / WAM / The Abu Dhabi Civil Family Court registered 15,000 civil marriage requests for foreigners, and 7,600 civil will requests during the first nine months of 2025, which reflects the increasing demand for the court’s services and its role in consolidating the position of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi as a global leader in the civil family justice system.
Statistics issued by the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department showed that the Civil Family Court received, from the beginning of January until the end of September 2025, about 15,000 civil marriage applications, with a monthly average of 1,540 applications, and a daily average of 77 applications, or about 14 civil marriages per hour, which shows the confidence of residents and visitors in the advanced services provided by the court, and what is characterized by the speed of procedures and their availability in both Arabic and English.
The court also registered 7,600 civil will requests during the same period, including 1,080 requests during the month of September only, with a daily average of 55 requests, or about 9 wills per hour.
The civil wills service allows complete electronic registration from inside or outside the country, with the possibility of digital documentation without the need for personal presence, making it a flexible and suitable option for various resident and visiting nationalities.
The court has witnessed an increasing demand from about 120 nationalities of residents and visitors, including a percentage of tourists coming specifically to the emirate to benefit from its services. This cultural diversity highlights the global appreciation for the efficiency of the civil family justice system in Abu Dhabi, and the advanced legal environment it provides that takes into account international standards and keeps pace with the needs of multicultural societies.
These indicators reflect the success of the Abu Dhabi Family Civil Court model as the first court of its kind in the region to implement a bilingual civil judicial system, through which judgments, documents, and claims papers are issued in both Arabic and English.
The court applies civil law in personal status cases of foreigners, and provides integrated services that include civil marriage, divorce without harm, joint custody, civil wills, and inheritances, with the possibility of completing all procedures digitally.
