Launch a program "Building comprehensive capabilities for educational leadership" In Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI, 5 November / WAM / The Emirates College for Educational Development announced today the launch of the “Building Comprehensive Capacities for Educational Leadership” training program for school leaders, with the aim of enhancing the leadership skills of school principals and their assistants who are qualified to lead in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

The program targets two main tracks in the education sector: The “Preparing Future Leaders” track, which provides new leaders or candidates to assume leadership positions in the future, with basic knowledge and skills for leadership, and the “Leader in the Educational Field” track, which focuses on enabling leaders currently working in the educational field to develop their practices and enhance their competencies.

Both tracks include an integrated learning journey consisting of 20 training sessions, covering various levels of school leadership, and each track with its training modules is implemented separately.

The “Preparing Future Leaders” track includes 57 training hours focusing on several topics, including: Leadership pillars, principles and values, leading effective evaluation in schools, leading effective curriculum development in schools, leading and promoting positive behavior in schools, leading and managing operational school systems, leading and managing financial and human resources in schools.

As for the “Leader in the Educational Field” track, it includes 55 training hours focusing on: Leadership pillars, principles and values, formulating the school’s strategic vision, empowering classrooms: leading teaching, learning and integrating technology, leading comprehensive school improvement strategies: smart school improvement.

Dr. Mai Laith Al-Taie, Director of the Emirates College for Educational Development, said: The program represents a pivotal step in developing educational leaders and building their capabilities and skills to lead the Emirati school with high efficiency and effectiveness, and support the educational system and the national education sector, according to an integrated approach that takes into account the various stages of the leadership process, as the program was designed to cover, through its various paths, the needs of new educational leaders, and those currently working in the educational field, which enhances their readiness to meet the requirements of the future and create a sustainable impact on the educational environment and school communities.

She added: The program will contribute to building qualified educational leaders capable of making a real impact in school management and leadership, through formulating strategic visions and adopting the best sustainable practices that support our national trends in enhancing the quality of education and the excellence of our educational institutions.

She stressed that focusing on developing leadership competencies prepares leaders more capable of employing and integrating digital solutions and artificial intelligence while preserving the authentic values ​​of the UAE and its people.

The objectives of the “Preparing Future Leaders” track, which continues until January 31, 2026, include: Enabling leaders to understand the pillars, principles and basic values ​​of educational leadership, preparing them to lead effective evaluation processes and developing curricula in line with educational requirements, qualifying them to promote positive behavior and building a motivating and supportive school environment, enabling them to manage resources and school operational systems efficiently and effectively, in addition to providing them with the ability to employ digital solutions to support leadership practices, and providing them with opportunities to gain practical experiences through experiential learning projects and field visits.

As for the “Leader in the Educational Field” track, which continues until January 13, 2026, it aims to: Enabling educational leaders to consolidate the foundations of leadership based on principles, values, and self-reflection, preparing them to formulate the school’s strategic vision and communicating it effectively, qualifying them to lead classrooms, develop teaching and learning methods, and integrating technology, as well as enabling them to develop and implement comprehensive strategies to improve the school, and provide them with opportunities to participate in online leadership forums and exchange experiences, present and implement their projects in the field of experiential learning and developing school practices, and support educational leaders through field visits to enhance the realistic practice of leadership.
