The occupation forces a Jerusalemite to demolish his house in Silwan

Today, Wednesday, the Israeli occupation authorities forced Jerusalemite citizen Musa Badran to demolish his house in the Al-Bustan neighborhood in the town of Silwan, south of Al-Aqsa Mosque, as part of its policy aimed at displacing citizens and Judaizing Jerusalemite neighbourhoods.

The official agency reported that the house is located in an area witnessing constant pressure from the occupation authorities, who repeatedly issue demolition orders under the pretext of building without a permit, while Jerusalemites face extreme difficulty in obtaining permits to build within the city. Occupied Jerusalem.

The demolition of Badran’s house comes in the context of the escalation of demolitions carried out by the occupation authorities in Jerusalem during the current year, as statistics reported that 93 buildings were demolished in the city until the end of last May, including 53 homes, while other reports showed that more than 623 homes and facilities were destroyed in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, since the beginning of this year, as part of a campaign aimed at displacing Palestinians and imposing control.

Citizens in the Al-Bustan neighborhood confirmed that the demolition operations represent a continuation of the policy of population cleansing and pressure on Palestinian citizens, stressing that these measures increase their daily suffering and exacerbate the housing crisis in the Holy City.
