20 performances from 14 countries compete in the 10th Sharm El-Sheikh International Youth Theater Festival

The Sharm El-Sheikh International Youth Theater Festival, headed by the artist Mazen El-Gharbawy, announced the list of performances participating in its tenth session, scheduled to be held from 25 to 30 November in Sharm El-Sheikh, with the participation of 20 shows from 14 countries, competing in four main theatrical competitions.
The Grand Pitch Competition includes five pitches: "Political Business" From Spain, the "Beast" From Egypt, and "SCREEN" From Italy, and “Between Heaven and Earth” From Poland, and "Black Stain" From South Korea. In the Children and Youth Theater Competition, four performances are participating: “Beauty and the Beast”; From Egypt, and "Beauty" From Russia, the "protectors of the earth" From Tunisia, and “Al-Far Al-Khayyat” from Algeria. As for the monodrama competition, it includes seven shows: "Da Capo: From the Beginning" From South Korea, and “Al-Mudahakni” From Kuwait, and an "emotional auction" From Saudi Arabia, and the "shoe shiner" from Qatar/Tunisia, and “A Story for EURYDICE” From Italy, the "candle" From the Emirates, and “sudden death” From Egypt. While the Street Theater and Non-Traditional Spaces Competition includes performances from Saudi Arabia entitled “The Last Man,” from Jordan “Me, Torment, and Your Love,” from Armenia “Risk,” and from Egypt “Good Boys Deserve Kindness.”
The festival is held under the auspices of the Egyptian Ministry of Culture, headed by Professor Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanno, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, headed by His Excellency Minister Sherif Fathi, and the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion, headed by Engineer Ahmed Youssef, in confirmation of the state’s support for cultural events that highlight the cultural face of Egypt and enhance its position on the global tourism map. The festival also enjoys the support of the South Sinai Governorate, led by Major General Dr. Khaled Mubarak, within the framework of cooperation between national institutions to achieve integrated cultural and tourism development.
The tenth session is moderated by Dr. Angie El-Bastawi, and bears the name of the great artist Elham Shaheen in honor of her rich career and constant support for the arts, while the festival’s Supreme Committee is headed by producer Hisham Soliman, and the honorary presidency is held by the late lady of Arab theater, Samiha. Ayoub.
