The UAE has established its international position as an influential soft power in shaping the future of the region and the world

Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Diplomatic Advisor to His Highness the President of the State, confirmed that the UAE, under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him,” has consolidated its international position as an influential soft power in shaping the future of the region and the world, through its exceptional success in building a policy based on a balance between firm principles and strategic flexibility in dealing with global challenges.

This came during a key session entitled: “The geopolitical landscape and the global narrative of the UAE”, within the annual meetings of the UAE government 2025, in the presence of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairwoman of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority “Dubai Culture”.

He said: “The UAE’s global narrative is based on three main pillars: first: promoting regional and international peace and stability through dialogue and diplomacy, second: supporting the sustainable development of human societies through economic and technological partnerships, and third: consolidating the values ​​of human brotherhood, tolerance and cultural openness as part of the Emirati national identity.”

Unique model.

He added: “The UAE has succeeded in building a unique model of soft power, combining economic influence, humanitarian role, and cultural and diplomatic presence, which has made it a reliable international partner in joint work to find solutions and initiatives to address various pressing global challenges.”

Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash also stressed that the UAE, with the vision of its wise leadership, is moving towards new stages of achievement, at the local and global levels, which doubles its status and influential role, as the UAE has wise leadership, a clear vision, an ambitious people, and a unique geopolitical location, which makes it qualified to be a major axis in shaping the future of the region and the world. His Excellency pointed out that the UAE’s leadership approach is characterized by confidence in the capabilities of its people and a keenness to sustain growth and prosperity. Stability is for the nation and the citizen, and this approach is the basis from which the UAE proceeds in its internal and foreign policies.

Geopolitical transformations.

He touched on the current geopolitical transformations, pointing out that the world is witnessing a restructuring of vital centers, a change in patterns of alliances, and a growth in cross-border challenges, such as epidemics, climate change, and regional conflicts. It is also witnessing unprecedented leaps in technological development and in vital sectors that will leave a profound impact on the shape of countries in the future, their sovereign decisions, and the work of governments. In light of these changes, the UAE emerges as a country with a clear vision, high readiness, and flexibility in adaptation. And the ability to influence, within a consistent message based on investing these transformations in supporting the development and progress of human societies, sustaining their prosperity, and consolidating security and peace at the regional and global levels.

He stressed that the UAE’s foreign policy places the economy at the service of politics and strengthens the foundations of peace and stability, and seeks to build balanced relations with various influential global powers, based on common interests and mutual respect, indicating that the UAE views alliances from a strategic perspective, as it works to build a network of multilateral international relations that enhances its ability to have a positive impact on international issues.

Stability support.

During the session, he also discussed the role of the UAE in supporting regional and international stability, through its efforts in mediation, humanitarian aid, and development initiatives in a number of countries, stressing that the UAE believes that security is not achieved by force alone, but rather through development, education, and empowering communities. In this context, he pointed out that the UAE has become an important pillar in the global humanitarian system.

The UAE played the most prominent relief and humanitarian role in alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza, as its aid amounted to $2.57 billion over two years.

Regarding mediation efforts, he gave an example of the exceptional results of the mediation carried out by the state between Russia and Ukraine, the total of which over the course of the crisis between the two countries reached 17 mediations that resulted in the exchange of 4,641 prisoners.
