Unified systems to consolidate the country’s position among the 15 best health systems in the world by 2031

A session entitled “Under the microscope…the health sector in the UAE”, within the annual meetings of the UAE government 2025, confirmed that the health sector in the country has witnessed qualitative leaps and great achievements, and that achievements continue in this sector within advanced and unified systems at the national level with the aim of consolidating the UAE’s position among the top 15 health systems in terms of quality of health care in the world by 2031.
The session was attended by the Minister of Health and Community Protection, Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh, the Chairman of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, Mansour Ibrahim Al Mansouri, the Director General of the Emirates Health Services Corporation, Yousef Al Sarkal, and the Executive Director of Dubai Health, Dr. Amer Sharif. The session was moderated by the Head of Government Services for the Government of the UAE, Mohammed bin Taliah.
The session discussed ways to develop government work and enhance the readiness of vital sectors to keep pace with future trends.
The session focused on the reality of the health system in the country, the priorities of the next stage, and continuing to build an integrated health system based on efficiency, sustainability and quality of services, in line with the directions of the “We are the Emirates 2031” vision.
The session also discussed the most prominent challenges in the health sector, and innovative solutions to confront them, in addition to plans to expand the scope of linking health data platforms, allowing health service providers in the country to view patients’ health files and exchange medical information in a safe and coordinated manner.
The discussions addressed the most prominent aspects of the future readiness of the health sector in terms of infrastructure and human resources, the localization of health competencies, and the adoption of modern technologies and artificial intelligence in developing health services and management, in addition to the role of digitization in improving strategic planning and rapid response to epidemics and health emergencies.
They discussed the role of artificial intelligence and advanced technologies in developing methods of diagnosis, treatment and prevention, and how the latest treatments and medical technologies can be adopted in the current health system.
During the session, Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh reviewed several topics related to assessing the country’s current health indicators and its position at the regional and global levels, in addition to plans aimed at enhancing health performance through modernizing policies, raising the efficiency of national cadres, and expanding the scope of partnership between government agencies and the private sector.
He also discussed with the leaders of the federal and local government health sectors integration mechanisms between digital health systems in various emirates to achieve the exchange of health data and ensure continuity of care, in a way that facilitates the patient’s journey and enhances the efficiency of the national health system.
