المملكة: Minister of Transport: Development in the Jazan region heralds a bright future
Minister Transportationand logistics services Engineer Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser said that the work of the transportation and logistics services system in the Jazan region is very large and complex, but it is making great progress thanks to the support of the wise leadership – may God support it – and the follow-up of His Highness the Emir of the Jazan region and His Highness his deputy.
He explained during a press briefing at the conclusion of his visit to the region today, that the Jazan region is currently witnessing a major renaissance and accelerated growth, and all its projects are receiving great follow-up. There is a remarkable development in integration and joint work with the emirate of the region, the secretariat, and the relevant security agencies, and this foretells a bright future for this region.
Future projects
He said: "The ambitions are very high in the Jazan, and there are future projects, the most important of which is a road "Jazan – Abha " Direct, which is a strategic project that is progressing in its procedures within the program of privatization and cooperation between the public and private sectors, and the transformation of the road "Jeddah – Jazan" To a highway".
"In addition to Roads, development work in the port, public transportation services by buses with integration between the transportation system and the region’s municipality, and services connecting cities by buses, and what is coming is better, God Almighty willing."He pointed out that the completion rate in the new Jazan Airport project reached (87%), and at the end of the year the operational trials of the project will begin, noting that the opening of the airport will not only contribute to providing distinctive and wonderful transportation services to the people of the region and its visitors, but will also be an economic enabler in the logistical, industrial and commercial fields.
Engineer Al-Jasser concluded that the strategic plan for the transportation system includes linking the Jeddah Islamic Port with the Jazan Port, after the completion of the project. Land bridge between "Jeddah and Jazan" God willing.
