المملكة: For Maritime Control… Jeddah Municipality launches 15 new boats


Declared Jeddah Governorate Municipality Today, Thursday, it inaugurated 15 new marine boats, in the presence of Dr. Fahd bin Abdullah Tunisi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Red Sea Authority, and Saleh bin Ali Al Turki, Mayor of Jeddah Governorate, with the aim of strengthening maritime control and protection efforts on the coasts of Jeddah Governorate.
This came during the visit of the Chairman of the Authority to the headquarters of the Secretariat, during which an agreement was signed (assigning marine field monitoring work to the Secretariat on behalf of the Saudi Red Sea Authority and other government agencies).
An introductory presentation was given on the establishment of the Marine Coastal Monitoring and Protection Agency and its main tasks, which include Rescue teams, marine oversight, and oversight of coastal resorts, and the tasks they undertake in following up on the commitment of marine facilities and resorts to safety and rescue standards in accordance with the approved regulations.

Viewing the control center

The visit included viewing the secretariat’s control center, and learning about its goals and tasks and the digital system that it is working on to enhance electronic control, which includes the cleaning system and the platform "My city"And vehicle tracking systems.

The decision-maker support system, the smart dumper, in addition to the road system that includes a system "Pavement"Asphalt paving system (PMMS), excavation licensing system, lighting control system, and… "Escada" To control the lifting stations and operate rainwater drainage pumps, and the control platform for city services.

New marine control boats

After that, the Municipality’s marina in South Obhur witnessed the launch of the new marine control boats, which will contribute to raising the efficiency of the field control system and enhancing the level of maritime safety within the governorate.
The Under-Secretary for Marine Coastal Monitoring and Protection in the Municipality, Captain Thamer Nahas, explained that the launch of 15 new boats comes within the efforts of Jeddah Municipality in cooperation with the Saudi Red Sea Authority, to develop the environmental and marine control system, support activities and improve the quality of services provided to citizens and visitors, in order to achieve the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
