Artificial intelligence “revives memories” with interactive digital images

The recent period has witnessed a remarkable expansion in the uses of advanced generative artificial intelligence techniques, through which strong competitive aspects have emerged, and new innovations in what are known as “digital reminiscence techniques,” which rely on digitizing personal experiences and images and storing and retrieving them in innovative interactive ways, which has allowed artificial intelligence to play an increasing role in reconstructing memories and reviving them with animated digital images.
Several companies in local and international markets have introduced initiatives and systems based on these technologies, with the aim of employing them in various fields, whether for medical, educational or entertainment purposes.
These initiatives included the use of advanced digital panels capable of transforming old photos of family members in different regions into interactive digital experiences that are displayed in a lively manner via artificial intelligence systems.
The new innovations rely on the capabilities of generative artificial intelligence to reconstruct visual and sensory experiences that may have faded or been lost over time, and are particularly useful in medical fields, where advanced algorithms are used to create images or short video clips based on a detailed description of personal memories, which helps patients with conditions such as Alzheimer’s retrieve details from their past, which contributes to improving their psychological state and enhancing their social communication with their families and surroundings.
These modern innovations provide more advanced means of preserving memories, data, events, and archiving digitally, as they allow images and data to be preserved from damage or loss in the long term, after converting them into animated visual clips that interact with historical data of characters and places, relying on artificial intelligence techniques to generate what are known as “digital twins.”
This technology enables the memories of deceased people to be revived interactively, through virtual and augmented reality systems, to recreate important moments from the past in an influential and emotional way.
These technologies have also found their way into the educational sector, where they are being used to produce interactive content that shows historical figures or past events in realistic simulation clips based on artificial intelligence. These clips are used in teaching history, geography, and other sciences, through smart boards or virtual reality glasses, which makes the learning process more interesting and rich in visual information.
Commenting on the development of these technologies, Namuong Joo, CEO of JL Standard, said, “Techniques for reviving memories digitally through artificial intelligence are among the most advanced innovations in the current era, as they have opened new horizons that were not previously available in various sectors.”
Joe added to Emirates Today that the technical markets are currently witnessing increasing competition in this field, pointing to the introduction of smart screens and panels that use artificial intelligence to reconstruct images, videos, and reproduce sounds in an interactive manner, with the aim of transforming memories into live digital experiences that enhance human communication with deeper and more realistic aspects.
For her part, Project Manager at iFlyTech, Halima Jabali, said that “digital reminiscence technologies give families a unique opportunity to restore precious moments from the past,” explaining that these technologies allow old photos to be converted into animated images via artificial intelligence, to meet the needs of families in retrieving their memories, whether with individuals who are still alive or those who have passed away.
She added that panels and screens designated for this purpose are displayed in homes as smart digital frames, containing pictures of deceased relatives or loved ones, with the possibility of moving them within the frame in realistic short clips, which gives them an emotional and emotional character.
. Interactive content can be produced that shows historical figures or past events in realistic simulations.
. New technologies help Alzheimer’s patients recall details from their past.
