Kazakhstan tentatively joins the “Abraham Accords”

Kazakhstan announced its initial agreement to join the “Abraham Accords”, making it the first country to join it during the second term of US President Donald Trump, according to what was reported by the Kazakh news agency “Kazinform”.
This announcement came in the wake of a joint phone conversation that took place in the White House between Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, US President Donald Trump, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, according to the Kazakh presidential press office “Acorda”.
In a statement published on the Truth Social platform, the US President described the talks as a major step forward, and confirmed that an official signing ceremony would be held soon.
For his part, “Acorda” quoted President Tokayev as emphasizing that his country’s accession aims to contribute to reducing confrontations and enhancing dialogue, explaining that this step is a natural extension of its multilateral diplomacy and does not affect its bilateral obligations with any country.
These developments come within the framework of an official visit by President Tokayev to Washington, during which he held talks with the US President at the White House, where the latter affirmed the United States’ commitment to strengthening its comprehensive strategic partnership with Kazakhstan, according to Kazinform.
The two sides also welcomed the signing of trade agreements between the two countries worth more than 17 billion US dollars, in addition to the signing of a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of vital minerals.
