Trump had launched a massive campaign against immigrants in his country, and on Friday he reiterated his belief that there is a link between immigration and crime, a hypothesis not supported by statistics in the United States.

The American President added: "Look what happened to Europe because of immigration. They are flocking to Europe in huge numbers"

He spoke about immigration to Europe in a more severe tone, saying: "If you go to some of these countries, you wouldn’t recognize them now because of what the immigrants did. As for Hungary, it remains the same"

European Union sanctions on Hungary

For his part, Orban defended his opposition to immigration, criticizing the financial sanctions imposed by the European Union on Hungary for its refusal to comply with the bloc’s decisions. And he said: "This is the ridiculous world we live in now in Europe"

He added: "We are the only government in Europe that considers itself a Christian government, and all other governments in Europe are basically left-wing liberal governments".
