The Kingdom joins the countries of the world in celebrating International Embracing Day, which falls on the ninth of November every year, as the Al-Wedad Society for Orphan Care represents the only body authorized by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development to assume responsibility for the program for fostering orphan children of unknown parentage with qualified Saudi families.

The number of families fostering orphaned children in the Kingdom exceeds more than 11 thousand Saudi families in various regions.

The Al-Wedad Society celebrates Orphans, on International Embrace Day by launching its campaign "The most beautiful feeling"With the aim of highlighting the feelings of love and giving that foster parents experience with their orphan children, and highlighting the noble humanitarian and social impact of the culture of embrace in Saudi society.

The campaign focuses on sharing real stories of foster families that embody the meaning of embrace as a way of life, and reflect how embracing an orphan child can fill homes with happiness and tranquility, and enhance the values of compassion and solidarity. Humanitarianism in society.

The CEO of Al-Wedad Association for Orphan Care, Dr. Dhaifallah bin Ahmed Al-Naami, explained that the campaign comes on the occasion of World Embrace Day as an extension of the association’s efforts to spread awareness of the culture of embracement, and to enhance societal acceptance of orphan children of unknown parentage, noting that "The most beautiful feeling" It aims to reach the community with an influential humanitarian message highlighting that embrace is not just an act of giving, but rather a mutual feeling of love and belonging between the child and the family.

He added that the association seeks, through this campaign, to consolidate the values of compassion and solidarity, and to highlight the positive models of foster families whose stories have become a source of inspiration and pride for the community, stressing that Al-Widad continues its pioneering role as the first association specialized in caring for orphans of unknown parentage in the Kingdom by providing them with their embrace. For qualified families.

Comprehensive care

Dr. Al-Naimi revealed that the number of foster children since the founding of the association has reached 1,200 foster children, 168,672 hours of comprehensive care were provided for children, and comprehensive care was also provided for orphaned infants, as we were keen to provide a safe environment that meets all their needs until they are handed over to qualified families capable of embracing and caring for them with love and attention.

He pointed out Al-Naomi said that in the year 2024 AD, the number of foster children was 126 children, and the number of review and support committees was 45 committees, while family rehabilitation hours reached 840 hours, review and support hours reached 1000 hours, psychological evaluation hours 1750 hours, follow-up hours 1792 hours, while advisory hours were 243 hours.

Al-Naomi stressed that the association encourages embracing orphans. On the condition of breastfeeding to ensure their upbringing in a good family environment, we were keen to carefully select the foster families, according to specific standards with careful follow-up to ensure the best conditions for the foster child are achieved.
