After 12 years… Manal Abdel Latif appears for the first time without the hijab

The artist Manal Abdel Latif has sparked controversy on social media during the past hours, after she appeared in a video with the journalist Sherif Baher without a hijab, for the first time after 12 years of wearing it.
This sudden appearance caught the attention of the public and sparked widespread interaction among them, as followers wondered why she took off the hijab. Manal Abdel Latif had previously spoken in a television interview with the journalist Marwa Sabry about the idea of taking off the hijab, confirming that the idea had occurred to her sometimes.
Manal Abdel Latif said: “I thought about taking off the hijab, because at times I miss myself.” Manal is the starting point, and by nature I am an open person, and sometimes I am drawn to the idea that I live more freely, away from anything that restricts me, but I quickly go back and say to myself no, and I claim that God strengthens me, because this is a big step and in the end, the idea comes back and continues to revolve in my mind, but I always return to My convictions."
Manal Abdel Latif added: “And every time the idea comes to my mind, the first thing to do, Manal, is to take off the hijab, and then I say to myself, ‘You took the step and sat down for these years,’ and the idea that keeps pressing me is that, God willing, when my oldest daughter, Farah, gets married, I think that I will take off the hijab in joy. I don’t know why, but this idea is weighing on me, and it is not necessary to wear an open dress. The most important thing is that I should be free because The veil always bothers me and I sit all the time adjusting it.”
It is noteworthy that the last work of the artist Manal Abdel Latif was the series “Kid El-Nisa 2”. Which was shown in 2012, starring Fifi Abdo, Nabila Obaid, Ahmed Badir, Mimi Gamal, and the series is written by Hussein Mustafa Muharram, and directed by Ahmed Al-Badri.
