Hania El Hamami is the fourth Egyptian player to top the rankings of women’s professional squash

Hania El Hamami, the champion of the Wadi Degla Club, has officially taken first place in the world rankings for professional squash women after her victory in the second round of the China Open.
The official website of the Professional Squash Association celebrated the Egyptian champion Hania El Hamami after she reached first place in the world for the first time in her career in the Professional Squash Players Association (PSA) rankings.
The classification is scheduled for next week (Monday, 17 November), Hania El Hamami took the top spot in the rankings, ending Nouran Gohar’s 11-month dominance at the top of the women’s game.
The 25-year-old will become the fourth Egyptian player in the history of the game to achieve this feat, following in the footsteps of her compatriots Raneem El Welily, Nour El Sherbini and Nouran Gohar.
Hania El Hamami started the China Open this week with less than one point behind Nouran Gohar in the Professional Squash Players Association rankings. And it was confirmed that Al-Hamami reached first place in the world, after winning the first two rounds of the tournament, regardless of her final result in the tournament held in Shanghai.
