“Hope Makers” begins receiving nominations for its sixth session

The “Hope Makers” initiative has begun receiving nominations and applications for participation in its sixth session, which was launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, “may God protect him,” to search for Hope Makers in the Arab world for the year 2025.
The sixth session of the “Hope Makers” initiative receives applications for participation and nominations via the website arabhopemakers.com.
“Hope Makers” is the largest Arab initiative of its kind dedicated to celebrating those who give in the Arab world, by honoring their humanitarian, charitable and community initiatives, projects, programs and campaigns through which they seek to improve their communities, improve the quality of life in their environments, help the needy and relieve the afflicted, alleviate the suffering of vulnerable groups and make a positive difference in the lives of the people around them, and harness their resources and capabilities for the public good or to serve a specific segment of society.
The initiative allows any person with a humanitarian or community initiative in any field or activity the ability to apply for the Hope Makers Award. Any institution, association, volunteer group, or organization with humanitarian or community activity has the right to nominate for the award, and others have the right to nominate whomever they deem worthy of doing so. The initiative grants the winning Hope Maker a financial reward worth one million dirhams.
“Hope Makers” has set conditions for participation and nomination, the most important of which is that the nominated initiative must be characterized by originality and innovation, contribute to improving the lives of the people concerned or make a positive difference in the relevant community, and that the owner of the initiative must be recognized in his community for his efforts, giving, and the excellence of his humanitarian or community activity.
“Hope Makers” requires that the owner of the initiative carry out his project as a volunteer effort, without achieving any profit or material benefit. If the applicant for the initiative is an organization, institution, humanitarian or charitable association, it must be registered as a non-profit entity, and the initiative must be of a sustainable nature, capable of expanding the scope of its benefit, and achieve a noticeable impact in the local community or leave a measurable and evaluated change in the group or segment concerned with its activity.
The initiative seeks to collect tens of thousands of stories of hope, and after the nomination applications close, several committees are formed to study, evaluate, and verify the applications. In conjunction with the stages of the competition, the stories of the Hope Makers, documented with photos and videos, are published through the various social media sites of the “Hope Makers” initiative, as well as through print and digital media platforms, so that the public can interact with the inspiring stories.
The candidates will go through several stages before reaching the final qualifiers, which will be held in Dubai, during which the first hope makers will undergo a comprehensive evaluation, in addition to following up on their projects and initiatives and studying them with documents and information, before announcing the winner of the title.
The “Hope Makers” initiative, which falls under the umbrella of the “Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives” Foundation, aims to highlight the hope makers in the Arab world, both men and women, who devote their time, effort and resources to serving others, helping the poor and needy, providing relief to the afflicted and contributing to improving the lives around them, and introducing the Hope Makers initiatives, projects and programs through various traditional and digital media, and through new media platforms, and enhancing their fame in their communities and in the Arab world.
It also aims to reward distinguished hope makers with the most influential initiatives by providing them with financial support to help them continue their initiatives, intensify their humanitarian and volunteer efforts in their communities, and expand the scope of their initiatives and projects to include a larger number of beneficiaries.
The initiative seeks to contribute to instilling a culture of hope and positivity throughout the Arab world and to encourage giving, regardless of the challenges. It also seeks to contribute to creating positive, inspiring role models for young people in the Arab world who will be role models for others in working for constructive change and developing their societies, and to celebrate these models.
