المملكة: Saudi Arabia showcases its pioneering experience in the museum sector in Dubai

I opened The Museum Authority today participates in the twenty-seventh General Conference of the International Council of Museums (ICOM), which is hosted by the Emirate of Dubai during the period from 11 to 17 November 2025, under the slogan “The Future of Museums in Rapidly Changing Societies,” with the broad participation of experts and museum institutions from various countries of the world.
The first day of the conference witnessed the opening of the MuseumsSaudi Arabia, which highlights the Kingdom’s efforts in developing the national and regional museum system, and displays the most prominent initiatives and projects that the Authority is working on within Saudi Vision 2030, as part of its endeavor to transform museums into vibrant centers that enhance cultural communication and evoke the values of identity and heritage.
Interactive Participation
The corner includes interactive and visual displays that highlight the transformations witnessed by the museum sector in the Kingdom, in terms of The diversity of experiences presented, and the adoption of modern technologies in display and documentation, in addition to programs aimed at empowering national competencies in the fields of preservation, research, design, and the comprehensive museum experience.
The Authority also participates in the conference with a number of speakers within the main dialogue sessions, where they review the development of the museum scene in the Kingdom during the last decade, and the role that museums play in documenting social and cultural transformations, and enhancing the Kingdom’s presence on the map of global culture.

This participation comes as an extension of the Museums Authority’s presence in international forums, and an affirmation of its commitment to enhancing professional dialogue between museum institutions around the world, exchanging experiences in the fields of museum management, exhibition development strategies, and adopting digital solutions that keep pace with the rapid changes in contemporary societies.
In this context, the Authority confirmed that its participation in ICOM Dubai represents an opportunity to present the Saudi experience in building an integrated museum sector that contributes to preserving national memory and preserving tangible and intangible heritage, in addition to Anticipating the future of museums as open spaces for dialogue, creativity and education.
The ICOM conference is considered one of the most prominent global events in the museum sector, as it brings together an elite group of experts and cultural and museum leaders to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing cultural institutions in light of the rapid technical and social transformations, which makes the Kingdom’s participation in it an affirmation of its growing leadership position in the international cultural scene.
