المملكة: Watch| Raising the covering of the Kaaba in preparation for the Hajj season
On Friday, the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque completed the work of raising the lower part of is 3 meters high, as part of the ongoing preparations to receive pilgrims to the Holy House of God for the Hajj season of 1447 AH.
The process included dismantling the lower parts of the kiswa and separating the corners, then raising and installing it at a height of (3) meters, in addition to installing the white cloth and returning the lanterns to their designated locations, according to organized and precise procedures.
The Kiswa of the Kaaba
The authority explained that the lifting process took about two hours, and was carried out by (34) manufacturers of specialized cadres who worked in harmony and with high precision to complete the task according to the highest approved standards.
It stressed that this procedure comes within the annual periodic work that aims to maintain the integrity of the Kiswa and protecting it from contact or damage, especially in light of the intense circumambulation and direct approach to the Holy Kaaba during.
Receiving the guests of God
The lifting process was carried out according to the highest standards of safety and professionalism, taking into account the sanctity and grandeur of the place, which reflects the level of care and attention to the Sacred House of God.
The raised part is covered with a white cotton cloth two meters wide on all sides, in a step followed annually that reflects the level of organization and precision in the integrated preparations made by the authority To receive the guests of the Most Gracious, and to facilitate their performance of their rituals with ease and reassurance.
