The Sudanese Armed Forces are spreading lies to cover up their responsibility for the destruction of Sudan

The UAE confirmed that the Sudanese Armed Forces continue to exploit every available platform to promote lies against it, describing this as a desperate attempt to mislead the international community and cover up its responsibility for the devastation that befell Sudan.
This came in the “Right of Reply” speech delivered by the Permanent Representative of the UAE to the United Nations and other international organizations in Geneva, Jamal Al Musharrakh, during the 38th special session of the Human Rights Council regarding the human rights situation in and around El Fasher, in the context of the ongoing conflict in Sudan.
He said: “My country requested its right to respond to the representative in question, who represents a party to this war, and he made it clear that instead of directing its efforts towards stopping the civil war that it sparked, the Sudanese Armed Forces are harnessing their energies to campaigns of misinformation and distortion, with the aim of prolonging the war and obstructing any real path to peace.”
The Permanent Representative of the UAE to the United Nations and other international organizations in Geneva stated that UN reports documented that the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces committed war crimes and horrific violations of international law.
Jamal Al-Musharrekh confirmed that the Sudanese Armed Forces rejected the humanitarian truce, despite the intense efforts made by the United States of America within the Quartet, with the support of the UAE, which would have avoided the recent escalation in the city of El Fasher and allowed humanitarian aid to arrive.
He stressed that the UAE affirms its full support for all calls for an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire, and calls on both parties to the conflict to adhere to their legal and humanitarian responsibilities, and to put in the interest of the Sudanese people, who alone pay the price of this senseless war.
He also renewed the UAE’s firm commitment to working with its regional and international partners, including the Quartet, to launch a comprehensive transitional process that paves the way for the establishment of an independent civilian government not subject to the control of the warring parties.
He said: “Those who claim to have built the glories of other countries should reflect on the destruction they have inflicted on their people with their own hands, and harness their efforts to build their country instead of exporting lies.”
He added: “The tragedies committed in Sudan conclusively prove that there is no military solution to this civil war.”
The Permanent Representative concluded his speech by emphasizing that “nations are not built on massacres and destruction, but rather on peace, tolerance and dialogue. We should not forget that the Port Sudan Authority, the party seeking to gain international sympathy in this session, is the same one that drowned Darfur in blood 20 years ago, and seized power by force again from the civilian government elected in October 2021.”
