Launching a competition bearing the name of Waheed Hamed at the Alexandria Short Film Festival
In the presence of the artist Hussein Fahmy, President of the Cairo Film Festival, and the great director Yousry Nasrallah, the Alexandria Short Film Festival pavilion was opened today inside the Cairo Festival Market, as part of the activities of its current session, in a step that confirms the presence of the festival and its growing influence within the Egyptian film industry.
The opening witnessed the presence of a number of members of the Supreme Advisory Board of the Alexandria Short Film Festival, including producer Safi El-Din Mahmoud, artist Sabry Fawaz, critic Ola El-Shafi’i, and Ahmed Fahmy, in addition to a number of filmmakers and those interested in short films.
Critic Mohamed Nabil, the festival’s artistic advisor, began the opening with an official speech, followed by the screening of a documentary film highlighting the most important achievements of the past session and the successes it achieved.
During the event, director Mohamed Mahmoud announced a group of important news related to the next session, most notably the launch of a scenario competition bearing the name of the late great writer Waheed Hamed, presented by the cultural foundation of the festival with the participation of director Marwan Hamed, provided that the details and application mechanism will be revealed within a short period.
