Emirates Medical Association: The country is a destination for international pharmaceutical manufacturers

Dubai, November 15 / WAM / The Emirates Medical Association confirmed that international pharmaceutical manufacturers are keen to launch their latest products in the Emirates and revealed the launch of two new drugs for the first time in the country after their approval directly by international official authorities.

Dr. Ayman Al-Naim, Head of the Emirates Dermatology Division at the Society and Chairman of the Ninth Emirates Dermatology Conference currently being held in Dubai, said that the UAE, which is one of the first and fastest countries in registering medicines, has become a destination for international pharmaceutical manufacturing companies to launch their latest products annually, pointing out that the directives of the wise leadership stress the provision of the latest international medicines to citizens and residents to alleviate their pain and suffering.

Dr. Al-Naim said that the first drug that was recently introduced is for ulcerative hidradenitis, which is an autoimmune inflammatory disease that afflicts a percentage of people with painful symptoms that are difficult to bear. The new treatment is an injection taken twice a month, every 14 days for the rest of their lives, to stop the symptoms. The second treatment is for bullous dermatitis, which is a chronic disease that mostly affects the elderly over sixty and rarely affects children, and the new biological treatment is taken once every two weeks.

On the other hand, the conference activities continued to discuss the latest research and successful international experiences in treating some incurable skin diseases.

Participants pointed out that dermatologists have begun using artificial intelligence to diagnose skin diseases due to its role in providing accurate assistance regarding effective treatments.

The conference highlighted the latest global developments in skin sciences, lasers and aesthetic medicine with the aim of improving the quality of health care and providing participating doctors with advanced skills and knowledge to apply in their daily practices, which contributes to enhancing the highest standards of care for dermatology patients.
