Al Ain defeats Al Sharjah by three and is approaching the semi-finals of the Professional Cup

Al Ain team put one foot forward in the semi-finals of the Professional League Cup (Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Cup) for football, after defeating Sharjah outside its stadium 3-1, in the match that brought them together today, Saturday, in the smiling emirate, in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the competition.
Moroccan Houcine Rahimi imposed himself as the star of the first match, after scoring the two goals that won Al Ain. He opened the scoring in the 20th minute with a perfect header after following up on Rafael Rodriguez’s cross, before adding the second goal after only five minutes, taking advantage of a magical pass from Kodjo Laba that put him in front of the Sharjah goalkeeper in a direct confrontation.
Al Ain completely dominated the first half, taking advantage of Sharjah’s technical and tactical decline, as its players were unable to keep up with the visiting team within 45 minutes.
In the second half, Sharjah tried to reduce the gap, after having several opportunities, and Igor Kornado succeeded in scoring the goal to reduce the difference with a shot from outside the box (88), but Matias Palacios returned and widened the gap again with a set goal from outside the box (90 + 10).
