Ahmed Malek: My philosophy in choosing my roles is based on embodying the concerns of young people
The artist Ahmed Malek confirmed that his philosophy in choosing his roles is based on embodying real characters that express the concerns and aspirations of young people, pointing out that the sincere relationship between the actor and the audience begins with understanding people’s feelings and internal questions.
Malik explained, during a symposium within the activities of the Cairo Film Festival, that he was inspired part of his artistic direction from a previous meeting with leader Adel Imam, in which he stressed the importance of the artist remaining in constant contact with his community, and that presenting new ideas requires intelligence and awareness of what people are experiencing..
Ahmed Malek expressed his pride in participating in the festival, stressing that the presence of Egyptian films on international platforms and festivals opened the door for him to perform abroad.
He added that the previous stage of his career relied on investing in every opportunity available to him, while his choices at the present time have become more mature and focused, and he said: “I will not make films for the West. I want to work here and be part of the country’s industryj".
