UAE University discusses digital transformation and artificial intelligence in education

The United Arab Emirates University held an “Academic Leadership Retreat” to discuss ways to enhance institutional and academic performance and accelerate progress in the fields of education, research and innovation, in light of the rapid global transformations in technology and the knowledge economy, in the presence of the Cultural Advisor to His Highness the President of the State and Supreme President of the University, Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh.
The retreat discussed a number of important topics, such as: digital transformation and artificial intelligence in education, enhancing the university’s reputation, supporting talent and community participation, research and innovation for national influence and achieving global leadership, developing students’ skills and raising their readiness for the labor market and entrepreneurship.
Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh stressed that the university, during its journey spanning five decades, has become a leading research university with an increasing regional and international influence, as it today offers 53 bachelor’s programs and 71 graduate programs, all accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, while the percentage of qualified academic programs that have received international accreditation has exceeded 90%, and it is expected to reach 100% by 2026.
He stressed the importance of developing the scientific research system and strengthening its connection to national priorities in the fields of water, renewable energy, health sciences and digital transformation, pointing out that researchers at the university published more than 3,000 scientific research indexed in the Scopus database in 2024, more than 70% of which were published in journals classified in the first category (Q1).
