The Arab League stresses the necessity of supporting world peace through culture as a soft power

The General Secretariat of the League of Arab States stressed the necessity of supporting world peace through culture as soft power because it is a tool for construction, not destruction, and it is stronger than any weapon, because it mends hearts before borders, and dissolves fear before it turns into hatred, noting the importance of intensifying cultural exchange between Arab countries and China as a moral duty and a strategic responsibility, to dismantle the discourse of the clash of civilizations, and build bridges of trust, not of tension.
This came in a working paper it presented. The General Secretariat of the League of Arab States entitled “Promoting Cultural and Humanitarian Exchange between the Arab and Chinese Civilizations” Within the framework of the Global Civilization Initiative – The 11th session of the China-Arab Dialogue, 2025, presented by Counselor Yousef Badr Mishari, Director of the Department of Culture and Dialogue of Civilizations at the Arab League.
This paper comes in the context of a historical responsibility, emanating from a common vision that seeks to consolidate the concept of “a community with a shared future for humanity,” by intensifying cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the Arab and Chinese civilizations, as a true pillar of peace and common prosperity, not As a mere economic or commercial partnership, but rather as a deep civilizational partnership, built on the roots of history, and guided by the values of humanity.
Mishari said, “We believe that the key to true understanding does not lie in declarations or agreements alone, but in spontaneous communication between peoples, in the meeting of minds, the exchange of values, and respect for identities. When an Arab student reads the poetry of Wang Wei, and when a Chinese student learns from the philosophy of Ibn Khaldun, and when an artist participates An Arab at an exhibition in Guangzhou, and when a Chinese film is shown at the Cairo Film Festival in the presence of a large audience – only then does the exchange become not just an activity, but an expression of a common will for closeness, appreciation, and respect.
