Our audience will be large in Basra with 8 free planes provided

The head of the National Football Team Fans Association, Fahd Al Mansouri, said that the Emirati fans have begun to flock to the Iraqi city of Basra, in preparation to support the team during its anticipated match against Iraq tomorrow, Tuesday, in the second leg of the Asian play-off qualifier to the global play-off, which in turn qualifies for the 2026 World Cup finals.
He told “Emirates Today”: “The public presence will be large in the stands, especially after the UAE Football Association increased the number of free planes allocated to transport the public to eight instead of five, to facilitate the presence of fans in the stands in large numbers and to support the team at this crucial and sensitive stage in its journey in order to qualify for the World Cup,” noting that “the Football Association has provided flags and shawls in large quantities that will be distributed to the audience who will be present at the match.”
He added: “We extend our sincere thanks to the wise leadership and to the Football Association for their unlimited and great support. These initiatives by providing free planes to transport the public to Iraq are not strange to the Football Association, especially since the team is going through a very important stage, especially since the circumstances did not help the team to qualify for the World Cup directly through the qualifying playoff from the beginning.”
Al Mansouri thanked the Iraqi Football Association for facilitating matters related to the presence of the Emirati fans in Iraq to stand with their country’s national team.
