France’s first half against England is “shameful”

French national team player Adrien Rabiot strongly criticized the “shameful” first half, and the actions of some players, the likes of which he had never seen before, following a 6-4 loss to England in the third-place match of the 2026 World Cup the day before yesterday in Miami.

Rabiot said in statements to the BeIN Sports network: “We entered this first half in a somewhat shameful way,” referring to France trailing 0-4 in the first half.

He added: “I saw behavior from some players that I had never seen before. It’s a bit disappointing, because this was our last game to do well in this tournament. “There is a lot of disappointment after the loss to Spain, but there was work to be done until the end, and we cannot be content with dealing with things in this haphazard manner.”

He continued: “We talked at halftime and said that we must show some pride, so the performance was much better in the second half.”
