A man was arrested for setting off an incendiary device in front of a federal building in New York


A man was arrested after lighting a Molotov cocktail in front of a building in Manhattan.
FBI Director Kash Patel said on the X platform: This morning a person used a Molotov cocktail in front of the 26 Federal Plaza building in New York, and the suspect is now in custody.
He indicated that two people were slightly injured, and announced that the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Force is investigating the incident.
The building includes immigration courts and the New York field office of the Immigration Department And Customs (ICE), the agency that implements President Donald Trump’s wide-ranging campaign to combat irregular immigration.

Democratic condemnation of the incident

The Democratic minority leader in the House of Representatives, Hakeem Jeffries, denounced the incident.

A statement by Jeffries, a representative from New York State, said: Terrorist acts and violence have no place in our city, and we will never tolerate them.
He added: Those responsible for this act must be prosecuted and the maximum penalties imposed The law allows it.
