Dubai continues to consolidate its position as a major global center for aviation innovation

This came during a meeting yesterday with His Highness, Executive Vice President of the Boeing Group and President and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Stephanie Pope, on the sidelines of the Dubai Air Show, with the start of the first day of the 19th session of the major global event.
During the meeting, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum expressed the UAE’s pride in the growing partnership and close cooperation relations with the leading global company in the aviation sector, the most prominent of which is the one it has with Boeing, which His Highness described as representing a model of effective cooperation with global leaders in this vital sector, which is one of the basic pillars of development around the world.
His Highness welcomed Boeing’s participation in the Dubai Airshow this year, which comes as an extension of its participation in the exhibition in its previous sessions, and represents a new opportunity to explore new horizons for cooperation in strengthening the aviation sector, supporting innovation and sustainability in its industries, and discovering new opportunities for growth and joint investment.
His Highness also welcomed the agreement signed between Emirates Airline, the largest international air carrier in the world and the largest operator of Boeing 777 aircraft in the world, and Boeing, regarding a new order to purchase 65 additional Boeing 777-9 aircraft, worth $38 billion, on the first day of the 2025 Dubai Airshow, as Emirates’ total orders with Boeing rise to 315 wide-body aircraft, stressing His Highness said that Dubai will remain a global platform for excellence and technological progress, as it continues to consolidate its role as a major global center for innovation in the field of aviation through strong partnership with the largest manufacturers and most prominent technology developers in the world.
During the meeting, which was held on the sidelines of the Dubai Airshow 2025, and was attended by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, President of Dubai Airports, Supreme President and CEO of Emirates Airline and the Group, the development of the partnership and cooperation relations that brought the two sides together in light of the long legacy of Boeing in the Middle East region, which dates back to more than 80 years ago, was reviewed.
For her part, Executive Vice President of the Boeing Group and President and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, stressed her pride in the qualitative partnership between Boeing and the UAE in general, and with Emirates Airlines in particular, pointing out that participation in the 19th session of the Dubai Air Show reflects the company’s commitment to the UAE and the Middle East region in general, and the great legacy that the company has established in the main strategic markets in the region over more than eight decades, noting the importance of the exhibition as an exemplary opportunity to showcase its portfolio. During the meeting, the most important capabilities supporting the future of the aviation sector were reviewed, most notably artificial intelligence, sustainable aviation technology, future solutions such as electric and hybrid aircraft, and ways to promote environmentally friendly technologies that enhance aviation efficiency by relying on smart fuel management systems and advanced navigation technologies, which in turn contribute to reducing emissions and reducing the environmental impact of flights.
