The President of the Republic of Korea visits the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI, 18 November / WAM / His Excellency Lee Jae-myung, President of the Republic of Korea, visited the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, accompanied by his wife, First Lady Kim Hye-kyung, His Excellency Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority, head of the honorary delegation accompanying the guest president, His Excellency Abdullah Saif Al Nuaimi, UAE Ambassador to Korea, and a number of ministers and dignitaries in the Republic of Korea.

His Excellency and the accompanying delegation, accompanied by His Excellency Dr. Yousef Al Obaidly, Director General of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center, toured the mosque’s halls and external corridors, where His Excellency informed them of the history of the founding of the mosque and its cultural message calling for coexistence, tolerance and openness to others, emanating from the exploits and values of the founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, and the great role played by the Mosque Center. Sheikh Zayed the Great in introducing tolerant Islamic culture and promoting cultural communication between cultures and peoples around the world.

Cultural tour specialist Fatima Bin Hashim gave His Excellency and the accompanying delegation a detailed explanation in the Korean language about the aesthetics of the mosque and the marvelous Islamic architecture that was clearly evident in all its corners, and about the most wonderful works of Islamic civilization throughout the ages, of arts and engineering designs that came together despite their differences and diversity in the design of the mosque, to reflect the beauty of the harmony and harmony of cultures in one creative work.

The President of the Republic of Korea and the accompanying delegation visited the shrine of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, recalling his legacy and wise approach, which laid the foundations of a culture of tolerance, coexistence and peace among the different peoples of the world.

The guest president was presented with a souvenir that reflects the mosque’s aesthetics, a compass whose design was inspired by its chandeliers, and a copy of the book “Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque… Stream of Peace,” which highlights the unique architectural art of the mosque, and takes readers on a photographic journey to learn about the aesthetics of its architectural engineering art, through a group of pictures that won the “Spaces of Light” award.
