Mona Zaki is the daughter of a prominent family. Her father is a doctor, and her mother holds a master’s degree in physical education. She is a talented girl. She was born in 1977. She lived most of her childhood years moving between Kuwait, England, and the United States, due to her father’s work. She studied media at Cairo University.

Mona Zaki began acting through Cairo University Theater, and her first artistic work was a play entitled “In Eloquent Arabic” with the artist Mohamed Sobhi, who discovered her talent, before she was among the new artistic discoveries in the late nineties, within what was known as the wave of comedy films for young stars. The film “Sahar al-Layali” was her pass for the Arab audience.

At the beginning of her career, Mona Zaki was keen to play the roles of a girl with an angelic face, and stayed away from sensual roles, or those with negative moral qualities. She made her popularity by performing the characters of middle-class or popular girls in Egypt, which increased the number of her fans, especially among middle-class youth.
