Fatima bint Mubarak receives the wife of the Korean President in Abu Dhabi

Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, “Mother of the Emirates”, President of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, received today in Abu Dhabi, First Lady Kim Hae-kyung, wife of the President of the friendly Republic of Korea, who is currently visiting the country.

The meeting witnessed a review of the deep bonds of friendship between the two friendly countries and peoples, and ways to strengthen them in a way that serves common interests and strengthens frameworks of cooperation, especially between women’s organizations in them.

The meeting reviewed the importance of cooperation in the fields of motherhood, childhood and family, in a way that enhances social development and enriches the common experience between the two countries.

During the meeting, Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak touched on the key role that Emirati women play today in supporting and developing the country’s development process, noting the continuous support from the wise leadership and its constant keenness to consolidate the status of women and empower them to contribute to building a bright future worthy of the ambitions of the Emirates and its future generations.

Her Highness pointed out that the daughter of the Emirates, thanks to this wise approach, has reached a distinguished position at all levels, becoming a global model of empowerment, creativity and leadership.

Her Highness stressed that empowering women in the Emirates is an essential pillar of the country’s vision for sustainable development, noting that Emirati women today contribute effectively to formulating policies and achieving achievements, which reflects the country’s deep commitment to providing opportunities and an appropriate climate to highlight women’s capabilities and enhance their vital role in society.

Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak praised the distinguished relations between the UAE and the friendly Republic of Korea, noting that this meeting reflects the depth of friendship and the keenness of the two countries to strengthen cooperation frameworks in various fields, especially with regard to supporting women and the family. She stressed that strengthening joint cooperation represents a bridge to more joint development achievements that serve the peoples of the two countries and open new horizons for cultural, social and economic exchange.

For her part, Kim Hae-kyung expressed her deep admiration for the great interest that the UAE pays to empowering women and enhancing their position in society, praising the pioneering role played by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak in supporting the family and developing society.

On this occasion, Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak hosted a dinner in honor of Kim Hae-kyung.

The meeting and banquet were attended by a number of sheikhs, women leaders, and the delegation accompanying the Korean President’s wife.
