Al Qasimi Publications displays its latest publications at the Kuwait International Book Fair
Sharjah, November 19 / WAM / Al-Qasimi Publications House is participating in the 48th edition of the Kuwait International Book Fair, which was launched today under the slogan “Capital of Culture… Home of Books” amid a wide Arab and international presence and under the supervision of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Literature in Kuwait, and the Sultanate of Oman is the guest of honor for this session.
Al Qasimi Publications presents its latest academic publications, the most important of which is the huge documentary encyclopedia “The Complex of Histories of the Arabian Peninsula and Persia” by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.
This work is considered an integrated scientific project that includes 33 volumes in Arabic and the same in English, and includes 1,473 historical documents from the English, Dutch, French and Ottoman archives, making it an essential reference for researchers in the history of the region.
The encyclopedia received widespread attention in research circles during its presentation at the recently concluded Sharjah International Book Fair due to the comprehensive knowledge structure it provides that rereads historical events through documented annals and rare sources.
The Al Qasimi Publications Pavilion also displays a complete collection of His Highness’s well-known works in the fields of history, narrative, literature and theater, including: The Sultan of History and The Portuguese in the Sea of Oman – Events in the Annals from 1497 AD to 1757 AD.
In addition to another group of publications that have been translated into more than one language, which reflects a growing global presence in the production of Al Qasimi’s publications.
The publications present a book of selections from “Jurun Nama,” which His Highness compiled based on the manuscript copy discovered in the British Library, dated 1697 AD, and written in Persian verse due to its rare historical and literary value, in addition to presenting the Sultan al-Tawarikh Encyclopedia, with its four parts, and a number of modern titles covering various fields of knowledge.
