المملكة: "Water": Binding requirements on "Manholes" and"The gray ones" Before the end of March 2027

In the context of its new regulation, the Authority indicated that the second phase, dedicated to the more precise supplementary requirements, will begin directly from the first of next April and extend for two full years until the thirty-first of March. 2027, which gives owners enough time to upgrade their services and facilities to comply with the highest standards without affecting Continuity of service provided to citizens and residents.

Comprehensive regulation and strict procedures

The authority stressed the comprehensiveness of this regulation for all sales outlets, as licenses are not limited to drinking water stations known as “manholes,” but rather extend to non-potable water stations or what is known as “al-Ashiyab,” in an unprecedented measure aimed at unifying regulatory standards and raising operating efficiency in all water sources within cities and governorates.

With regard to the compliance mechanism, The Authority clarified that the correction process goes beyond mere paper procedures to include strict adherence to a set of technical controls, the most important of which is conducting accurate and continuous measurements of water quality, ensuring that sites meet engineering and health requirements, as well as providing advanced technical equipment to ensure service performance according to approved indicators.

The Authority concluded its directives by emphasizing that these procedures include strict requirements related to the safety of facilities and the protection of their workers, to ensure a safe working environment and a sound final product, stressing that this regulatory movement will be reflected positively. It directly impacts water supply reliability and community safety.
