The UAE gives its sons and daughters full confidence in leading the paths of development

Yesterday, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Supreme Chairman and CEO of Emirates Airline and the Group, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the National Olympic Committee, visited the Dubai Airshow 2025, where His Highness was briefed on the latest advanced technologies and solutions offered by international and regional companies involved in the aviation and space sectors, in addition to innovations related to air transport and defense technologies and future systems.

Global platform

His Highness stressed that the Dubai Airshow constitutes an influential global platform that brings together sector leaders and pioneers, and highlights the pivotal role of the UAE in advancing development and innovation paths in aviation and space, pointing out that the country continues to build an advanced economic and legislative environment that supports companies and manufacturers, and provides broad opportunities for developing future technologies.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said: “The aviation sector is one of the vital engines for the growth of the national economy, and through this exhibition we seek to enhance international cooperation and attract partnerships that contribute to supporting our development process, and consolidating Dubai’s position as a global center for advanced technologies in aviation and space.”

His Highness added: “The broad participation and qualitative innovations we are witnessing today reflect great confidence in the UAE, as a global platform for development, research, and launching future solutions. We will continue to invest in this vital sector, empower national competencies, and open the way for international companies to participate in creating the future of aviation from Dubai.”

His Highness stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between the government and private sectors to adopt the latest technologies and develop innovative solutions that contribute to raising the efficiency of operations and improving the sustainability of the aviation sector, stressing that the UAE will remain a pivotal partner in shaping the future of this sector at the global level.

During the visit, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum followed some of the air displays presented by the international teams participating in the exhibition, which showcased the latest aerobatic flying techniques and air maneuvers, in displays that reflected the great development witnessed by this industry globally, and the capabilities of companies to innovate modern solutions that enhance performance and efficiency in aviation.

After that, His Highness inspected a number of pavilions and platforms participating in the event, looking at the most prominent companies displaying advanced systems in the fields of civil aviation, smart technologies, and sustainable solutions, in addition to modern models of commercial and military aircraft, and unmanned aerial vehicles. His Highness was also briefed on the latest projects and innovations that contribute to enhancing the future of the industry globally.

His Highness praised the level of wide participation of international and regional companies in the Dubai Airshow this year, and the advanced solutions and technologies they provide that reflect the great development witnessed by the aviation and space industry, and their contribution to enriching the exhibition, enhancing the exchange of knowledge and experiences, and opening new horizons for development in various fields of aviation and space, stressing that Dubai will continue to provide a supportive environment that enables companies to test and present their latest future solutions.

Meet the pilots

In the context of the exhibition, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Supreme Chairman and CEO of Emirates Airline and the Group, met with a group of Emirati pilots working for Emirates Airline, during His Highness’s visit to the Dubai Airshow 2025, during which His Highness was briefed on their professional experiences and their role in supporting the national carrier’s operations and enhancing Its global presence in the civil aviation sector.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum stressed that national cadres in the aviation sector represent one of the most important foundations of the UAE’s vision for the future of this vital sector, noting that the UAE places full confidence in its sons and daughters in leading the paths of development, and enhancing its readiness to compete globally in various fields, especially the fields of advanced technology.

His Highness said: “The keenness of the UAE’s youth to excel in advanced aviation specializations embodies the true spirit of achievement that distinguishes the nation’s people, and reflects the state’s confidence in their abilities and its belief in their ability to continue raising the UAE’s name in international forums. Today, the aviation sector is witnessing rapid development, and Emirati competencies constitute an essential part of this development, with their global skills and experience.”

Emirati women

His Highness added: “Emirati women are registering their presence in all sectors, including the aviation sector, and it is a well-established approach that the UAE is steadily pursuing. The participation of women in precise specializations such as aviation represents an Emirati success story that contributes to enhancing diversity, efficiency and sustainable growth in this vital sector, and investment in people will remain the core of the UAE’s journey in building the future.” The meeting came within the framework of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s keenness to pursue efforts to qualify national competencies and enhance the presence of Emirati youth and women in strategic sectors related to the future. His Highness praised the high levels of preparedness and professionalism achieved by male and female pilots, and their role in supporting the country’s progress and consolidating its global competitiveness in civil aviation.

National cadres

For their part, the Emirati pilots, numbering 40 national cadres, including two female members, expressed their pride in meeting His Highness, and the great moral support he represents for their professional careers, stressing their commitment to continuing excellence and representing the UAE in the best way in various international forums.

About 900 male and female citizens currently work for Emirates Airlines in the positions of pilot and first assistant, within the national carrier’s operations around the world, while about 300 are undergoing training at the Emirates Pilot Training Academy.

The carrier continues to build a strong base of national competencies in various aviation specializations, which supports the UAE’s Emiratisation goals and, at the same time, meets Emirates Airlines’ future needs and long-term operations, while enhancing the technical capabilities of national cadres from the training stage to leadership positions inside the cockpit.
