National carriers announce exceptional flights starting today

Abu Dhabi, March 2 / WAM / National carriers in the country announced the operation of exceptional flights starting this evening, with full commitment to the highest safety standards and continuous coordination with the competent authorities.
Etihad Airways explained that its scheduled commercial flights to and from Abu Dhabi will continue to be suspended at the present time, with the operation of a limited number of aircraft repositioning flights and cargo flights, in addition to flights designated to return citizens and residents to their countries, after obtaining the necessary operational and safety approvals.
The carrier stressed that the safety of its guests and crew is its top priority, stressing that it will not operate any flight unless all approved safety requirements are met.
For its part, Emirates Airlines announced the operation of a limited number of flights starting this evening, March 2, in light of the closure of airspace and the resulting widespread suspension of flights.
It confirmed that it will give priority to customers who have previous reservations, and will communicate directly with those who have been rebooked to travel on these limited flights, calling on customers not to go to the airport unless they receive official notification.
It stated that all other flights will remain suspended until further notice, with continuous monitoring of the situation, updating the operational operations schedule according to developments, and publishing developments through its website and official channels.
It also provided the possibility of rebooking to the original destination until March 20 without additional fees, or requesting a refund of the ticket value according to the approved procedures for direct bookings or through travel agencies, noting that the travel check-in points in the city in Dubai have been temporarily closed.
In turn, Flydubai announced the operation of a limited number of flights this evening, stressing that the safety of passengers and crew is its top priority, and that it is working closely with the relevant authorities to ensure a gradual and effective return to operational operations in light of a still changing situation.
Flydubai called on its customers to update contact information via the “Manage Booking” page, and to check the flight status via its website before heading to the airport.
It advised customers who have travel reservations within the next 72 hours to rebook within a period of up to 20 days from the original travel date without additional fees, or to contact the call center or travel agent to obtain options for rebooking or refunding the value of the ticket.
In the same context, Abu Dhabi Airports confirmed the resumption of operational operations at Zayed International Airport on a limited basis, starting today, Monday, March 2, 2026, in coordination with the relevant authorities and airlines.
Abu Dhabi Airports urged travelers not to go to the airport before contacting their airlines to obtain updates regarding their flight times.
Dubai Airports confirmed that a limited resumption of operations will begin this evening, with a limited number of flights allowed to operate from both Dubai International Airport and Al Maktoum International Airport, calling on travelers not to go to the two airports unless they are contacted directly by the airlines and confirm the departure date.
Today, the General Authority of Civil Aviation announced the start of operating exceptional flights at the country’s airports, with the aim of leaving stranded passengers affected by the events that took place in the region, according to the schedules that the airlines will announce to the affected passengers and the destinations concerned.
The authority called on travelers whose flights were affected not to go to airports until they are contacted and informed of the flight times and details by the airline companies, in order to avoid crowding and ensure the smoothness of procedures, stressing that adherence to the issued instructions contributes mainly to facilitating procedures and ensuring the regularity of operational movement.
