"Energy and infrastructure" The UAE is represented within the national team for climate action negotiations at COP30

Belem, November 21 / WAM / The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure represented the UAE within the national team for climate action negotiations at the Conference of the Parties (COP30), which was hosted by the Brazilian city of Belem in the heart of the Amazon, continuing its leading role in the discussions of the “global inventory outcome” and “mitigation” items, in a way that strengthens the country’s position as a driving international force for building consensus and consolidating global climate ambition.
This participation comes within the framework of a unified national approach that embodies continuity of leadership from the twenty-eighth Conference of the Parties to the thirtieth, and reflects the UAE’s vision to be a global model for effective climate partnerships and making positive, sustainable change.
At the level of negotiation tracks, the Ministry provided substantive interventions that supported the UAE’s presence in the global inventory discussions. It also participated in the nineteenth workshop of the facilitative partnership mechanism for the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, with the aim of reviewing the updates report every two years.
As the first country in the Middle East and North Africa to provide this type of report, the UAE continues to consolidate its leadership position in the accuracy and transparency of climate reports in accordance with international best practices.
Within the framework of the global climate action agenda, the Ministry participated in a number of high-level ministerial sessions, including the ministerial table on linking energy transition plans with financing within the Global Energy Planning Alliance, the executive dialogue to accelerate hydrogen deployment within the International Hydrogen Trade Forum, the regional leadership session for global pathways for small modular reactors, and the ministerial event on the pivotal role of biofuels in achieving climate neutrality.
During these sessions, the Ministry reviewed the most prominent features of the UAE’s experience in the transformation of the energy sector, including: eliminating bureaucracy in energy and transportation sector services, the progress made in implementing long-term strategies, adopting clean energy and hydrogen policies and legislation, and raising energy efficiency in support of economic growth and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals 2030 and the “We Are the Emirates 2031” vision, leading to achieving climate neutrality by 2050.
The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure affirmed its commitment to continuing the approach of leadership and excellence, and enhancing the UAE’s role as a pivotal actor in shaping international climate action paths, and leading innovative solutions that contribute to building a low-carbon future and a more competitive and flexible economy.
