Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations Affairs at Dubai Police, Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, confirmed that maintaining calm and comfort in the Emirate of Dubai represents one of the basic pillars on which the Dubai Police General Command works, in line with the directives of the wise leadership aimed at enhancing the quality of life and ensuring a safe and stable environment for residents and visitors.

He explained that Dubai Police impounded 210 motorcycles and scooters, and issued 271 tickets last week, to their drivers who engaged in dangerous behavior in violation of the law in the Al Khawaneej area, Nad Al Sheba, Jumeirah Road, and the Al Qudra area, whether by making loud noises, driving against the direction of traffic, or driving on highways in a way that poses a threat to their lives and the safety of other road users.

He pointed out that field teams carried out intensive campaigns to monitor and reduce these negative behaviors, and legal measures were taken against violators, stressing that Dubai Police will not tolerate any behavior that disrupts public order or puts the lives of others at risk.

He added that the seizure of motorcycles and electric bikes came within the framework of implementing the seizure campaigns launched by Dubai Police, as part of its keenness to enhance traffic safety on the roads, raise the level of awareness among road users from various segments of society, reduce traffic accidents, especially serious ones, enhance traffic culture among road users, maintain the general appearance in the emirate, and enhance peace and tranquility in various regions.

Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazroui warned against driving vehicles or bicycles recklessly and recklessly on the roads, explaining that the law punishes driving them in a way that endangers the life of the driver or the lives of others, their safety or security, or driving them in a way that would harm public or private facilities, as their drivers are stopped, their vehicles are seized, and they are referred to the judiciary to take legal measures against them.

He stressed that police personnel will not be complacent in confronting those who commit violations, in order to preserve their safety and that of road users. He pointed out that Dubai Police’s efforts are based on a comprehensive strategy that aims to enhance traffic safety and reduce accidents resulting from reckless behavior. It also stresses the importance of adhering to traffic rules, especially among young people, to ensure the safety of everyone and achieve higher levels of safety on the emirate’s roads.

He called on parents to follow up on their children, monitor their behavior and the violations they commit, and not allow juveniles to drive motorcycles without a license, or allow them to participate in youth gatherings or perform dangerous movements, stressing that it is the responsibility of the guardian to monitor the children if they drive a vehicle or bicycle without a license, and that not knowing this does not exempt him from responsibility.

He also called on community members to cooperate with the police, and to report any negative traffic behavior or phenomena through the “Police Eye” service available on the Dubai Police application for smart phones, or by calling the “We are all police” service at 901.
