Al Ain Book Festival 2025 activities begin tomorrow

Al Ain, November 23 / WAM / Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Al Ain Region, the activities of the Al Ain Book Festival 2025, organized by the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, will kick off tomorrow, during the period from November 24 to 30, at Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium “Al Ain Square” and a number of the most prominent cultural sites in the city, to provide its visitors with an educational program. Culturally and socially integrated, it enhances Al Ain City’s presence as a national center for literary creativity and knowledge exchange.
This edition witnesses a wide participation of more than 220 publishers and exhibitors presenting more than 100,000 titles, as part of the center’s vision to support the presence of the Arabic language, enable reading, and expand the base of Emirati creators. This edition also presents a rich cultural program exceeding 200 events that include literary and knowledge sessions, cultural dialogues, performances, heritage and artistic activities, and children’s programs, which reflects Abu Dhabi’s vision of supporting the cultural movement and enhancing the presence of knowledge in daily life.
Al Muwaiji Palace is hosting the “Nights of Poetry: The Sung Word” program in its fourth session, through eight evenings hosting an elite group of Emirati and Gulf poets, to celebrate the biographies and achievements of three of the late icons of Emirati folk poetry, Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Dr. Hazza bin Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the poet Hamad bin Suhail Al Ketbi, in appreciation of their contributions to preserving national poetic memory and documenting Features of the local environment.
In its current session, the festival continues its interest in young talents through the “Poets of the Future” evening, in addition to the “Poetry and Society” session. Al Ain city institutions and councils are also organizing a group of sessions that address issues of national heritage, identity, and youth empowerment.
The new edition of the festival includes notable additions through the launch of a package of innovative activities, most notably the interactive program “Who is for Us” and the “In the Footsteps of Knowledge We Gather” initiative in cooperation with Al Ain Sports Club, to encourage society to adopt an approach that combines culture and health.
The educational program includes dozens of scientific and theatrical activities, competitions and artistic workshops directed at children and families, in addition to activities dedicated to people of determination, while the “On the Path of Science” initiative extends to the city’s schools and universities to introduce students to the festival’s message and its role in building a reading and informed society.
The festival enhances its presence as a platform for honoring literary creativity, by celebrating the winners of the “Generation Treasure” award in recognition of their contributions to the poetic and literary scene, consolidating aesthetic values in modern Emirati literature, and highlighting the aesthetics of the national poem in a creative space that brings together generations.
